The Strange Death of Alex Raymond:
Latest Update from Sean:
Hello everyone,
This is a quick update to let you know that, at long last, Carson and I have both received our shipment of books. I'm not sure if it's the residential delivery, or what, but both of our shipments lagged behind the Diamond (last Monday) and Bud Plant (Thursday) shipments.
So the good news first-- this was a drama-less delivery. Thanks to a giant jacked truck driver with a giant pallette jack and a moderately-sized truck, Carson's got the books on hand to fulfill the six-hundred-odd orders!
The bad news is, the late delivery, combined with the timing -- i.e. this being the busiest part of the semester for Carson's work at the college-- means that you all will most likely not be receiving books in advance of the November 10th comic store delivery.
I'm very sorry that this is the case, but with the comic store release only six days away, it's simple math at this point. Had the books been delivered error-free in June as planned, we would have had plenty of time to make sure that you all had your books the very first thing, but alas, nothing about this has quite been how we expected.
Now, I didn't say DEFINITELY because Carson is literally fulfilling books as I type this. Last I heard from him via text message, he had signed/book plated and packed 40(!) packages. So it is possible some domestic packages will be there lickety split. I don't have a concrete ETA yet, save that it will be As Soon As Humanly (and Humanely) Possible, and that you'll be emailed a tracking number once your package is ready to go out.
Lastly, I wanted to let you all know that I will be sending out PDF links to the digital form of the book to EVERYONE on Friday, so that, if you wish, you'll be able to read the book then, in advance of receiving your print copy.
Once again, I'm very sorry that this is the case. I hope you all will be understanding of the difficulties involved in he reprint situation, and know that we have done our best to get the best book possible to you, in as fast as we were able.
The wait is almost over...
All the best,
Sean

“The package to Canada has left Moscow”? Oh, no! That means that Washington will send packages to Moscow, thus leading to mutually assured destruction. DEFCON 1! DEFCON 1! (All right, all right. I know it’s a weak joke, but I can’t be the only person who thought this when reading that line.)
