So, somebody asked me if there was a way to get a copy of Pieces of Turtles #8.1?
Well, no. Dave did the Canadian and American editions, and they're limited editions, so a reprint isn't gonna happen...from Dave.
BUT, Dave did extend the offer to Josh Even's Cerebus and Barbarian Turtles artists to do their own copies. And I have the PDF. And an idea for a cover:
Then I'm gonna figure out how many copies I want to sit on for the rest of my life and have Alfonso print them and get Dave to sign and number them.
It's not the first time I've "done" Dave. I did an ad in Cerebus Readers In Crisis #4:

My buddy James Windsor-Smith has a Kickstarter too. You might remember him as the guy who had a stroke or two and sent Dave a Cerebus Sketchbook full of Cerebus drawings he did AFTER the second stroke. He's looking for $2000, and he needs another $556. Help a 'brudda out.

Hi everyone!
Wanna see what Dave sees when he sees the work in progress? All cut in half and faxed to Dave in 12 pages for proofreading. It's in black and white because that's how the faxes come in (not because Dave is color blind, excuse me, colour blind. Actually he isn't colour blind at all).
The good news is that the six pages of commentary are done and the files are in the hand of the printer. Sean Robinson will be putting the Cerebus No 4 comic book together this coming week and it will be ready to be printed. Everything else is done or has been done for a while. So now the printer will be feeling the eyes of all of Aardvark-Vanaheim's vast staff and 160 backers on him. No pressure, Alfonso.
Everyone's pledge has cleared so there are no drop outs this time and while we still await 8 responses to our survey we can see what they ordered and fulfillment can go forward. However, if we do not have an address for those 8 backers we can't send your items until you, everybody say it, fill out your survey. Only then will Kickstarter release your address to us.
But it's going and going well despite a cross-country move and a bout of insomnia and any number of technical diffculties (Adobe, we're looking at you. If you don't know Adobe, don't torture yourself, all their products are great until they aren't and your hair turns white).
If you filled out your survey you saw a question about the kind of Kickstarter campaign you would like to see. We don't have the final tally yet, but it's breaking into three camps: 1) We want it simple, 2) Surprises are fun and keep me engaged, 3) I don't care. No 1 is probably the big winner but Dave came up with an interesting compromise just today, here it is:

Everything else related to this project has been printed so it's just down to the actual books.
