The Unexpected Return of the 60 Foot Sim!

Hi, Everybody!

Mondays:

Got an Update from the Waverly Press about their Form & Void:
Greetings,

This will be one of the final updates for Form & Void.

As of today we have dispatched about 2/3 of the pledge packages and the last of them will be shipped over the next few days.

Some of you should have already received your books and we welcome any feedback that might help us improve the next one.

A bit of bad news. The printer that was to produce the micro-Cerebus #1 books has pushed back delivery again and now can't finish them until at least February. The delay is primarily due to supply chain problems with the materials related to the slabs. To those of you who added these to your pledges, we are refunding the full cost of the micro books and we will include something extra in your package which will hopefully make up for not getting them.

We do intend to offer the micro-Cerebus #1 when the printer can commit to a delivery date.

Thank you for your support and keep an out for our next Kickstarter projects which are the remastered Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #8 and the Cerebus: The Last Day deluxe hardcover!

"Supply Chain Problems"?

Is THAT what they're calling the 60 Foot Sim now?
"Oh no! There goes Tokyo!"

You’re right. The reason they’re having trouble producing the mini-Cerebus #1 is not because of a supply chain problem, but rather because of a lack of skilled labor. It’s difficult to find enough magical little people who know how to operate their tiny printing press.

An aside: my copy of the Waverly Form & Void arrived unceremoniously yesterday, and it is again a thing of beauty. Kudos to the usual team. And I actually rather LIKE the blue cover with gold stamp - definitely gives it the vibe of a period hardcover of one of Hemingway's books, once you've mislaid the dust jacket.

Maybe a smallish way for Dave to make a little extra scratch is to design dust jackets for people who've bought hardcovers, print on demand? I could totally see him killing it as an exercise in mid-century design. I'd personally be happy to buy one if the price were reasonable (say $30 plus shipping), and Lord knows the hardcore completists out there would be happy to spend more. Could even be a sale piece for people who didn't buy the hardcover?

I DO miss the slipcase, admittedly, if only for the sake of consistency on the shelf.

Dave,

My sentiments exactly about the slipcover. POD dustcovers are a great idea.

Great idea! You can count me in on picking up a slipcover.

I’m in on the POD slipcover, too!

To be clear, I'm suggesting dust jackets, here, not an actual slipcase/slipcover.
