Over on the FaceItBooks, my buddy Steve posted:
Guess what arrived today ...
Which reminded me of all my copies of the Strange Death of Alex Raymond.
First, was the original "Proto" Strange Death of Alex Raymond:
Dave's History of photorealism in glamourpuss
HOW YA GET IT:
The image only shows the first eighteen, but glamourpuss ran for twenty-six issues.
HOW YA GET IT:
Sadly, Dave ended the book due to low sales. And it's VERY much out of print. The only way to get a physical copy is to hunt down the individual issues on eBay, in Back Issue bins, and through phenomenal good luck.
If you're willing to settle for digital copies, "I know a Guy"...
Just email what issues you need to momentofcerebus@gmail.com, and I'll be more than happy to get you hooked up with the "Proto" Strange Death of Alex Raymond. (Feel free to tell your friends. And your enemies.)
Second was the Fund Raising Edition of The Strange Death of Alex Raymond from Dave and Eddie through Dave's Patreon:
It was pretty limited, so if you didn't back it then, you're probably shit out of luck. I guess I could ask Eddie if he's got any extras. I got one that has a 50% chance of having been in my bathroom. (If you're desperate...)
Third is the preliminary Strange Death:
This is a collection of all the tracing papers Dave did in the production of glamourpuss and The Strange Death of Alex Raymond.
HOW YA GET IT:
Ya needed to back Sean and Carson's Kickstarter
Fourth is the Strange Death of Alex Raymond Volume 2 Mockup:
HOW YA GET IT:
Fifth is The Strange Death of Alex Raymond:
Well, you COULD have backed the Kickstarter, but you can get it through your local comic book store, Bezos, Chain Book Store, Sean, or through one of the links here.

What's the latest estimate for the date it'll arrive in comics shops?
The stuff with the comic book store owner is creepy, obsessive, and sticky. Everything else is fun.
Woooo! Such a relief to see these are making it into peoples' homes!
I have a good amount of the CaFE editions on hand if people want em. It would be nice to be able to send Eddie back a big ol' check for those.
No, not THIS Steve, that other Steve
Steve ( the other other Steve)
...and I'm thinking of having a slipcase made for the books, be a nice way to keep / display them all together.
I assume the CaFE is the California Test Market Edition?

It's a beautiful set of books, Carson and Sean! Thanks for setting and keeping to such high standards of production. Looking forward to reading the book probably over Christmas.
