Hi, Everybody!
Mondays:
_____________________________________So at the END of May, Dave faxed me about the Death's Dark Tread Auction, and the "new" deal where for two grand I'd left people have a page:
So, not wanting to "piss off the money" (closest thing I have to a Commandment in the closest thing I have to a religion,) I didn't tell anybody.
I mean, on the one hand, it wasn't Dave's deal to @#%& with. And on the other hand, (at this point) Dave didn't have any skin in the game. (Yes, the Thursday he mentioned was Please Hold where he DID throw in $2K.)
And even after the other hand changed, I STILL didn't mention it, because by that point the Dark Treaders had even MORE money not to be pissed off.
But, we all lost and I'm bringing it up now, because it's an issue that we should maybe all spend a few minutes on...
As I said in the "next time" on Saturday: "You'll have Time"

...which I told Jeff I was just gonna send back to Dave. Because as much as I would LOVE to have original pages in my grubby little mitts, I also know I have no right to have original pages in my grubby little mitts. So, if Jeff had his house in order before he left (the last time I spoke to him, he was planning his last Christmas with his brother and sister. Which means his shocking death came as a shock to him too.), I would have gotten the pages and turned them over to Dave with the understanding that they be turned into Bonus Prints for the next Cerebus Archive Portfolio and given to all the backers in memory of Jeff.
But Shecky DIDN'T get his house in order, and his pages are who-knows-where, along with his near complete run of 300 issues (he was missing 1, 2, 3, & 14, if I remember right), his three-foot high stack of letters to and from Dave, the tracing papers Dave gave him, and other assorted Cerebus bric-a-brak.
So, if you have Original Cerebus Art, and you're haven't already made plans on what you want to have happen to it after you become an EX-Cerebus fan, you should probably have a conversation with your family and get some record of your wishes. And if you don't have a family, you should maybe get a lawyer and draw up a will, or go here.
And, I'm sure Dave would LOVE your Original Art, but he maybe doesn't need your full/or partial run of the series, plus glamourpuss, plus Following Cerebus, plus Cerebus Archive, plus whatever Aardvark crap you've wasted your life on Margaret... (Too close to home?), so, if you have no plans for that crap, you could always leave it to the "Mouse Skull Home for Wayward Aardvarks". Just send an email to momentofcerebus@gmail.com titled "I'M @$%&ING DYING OVER HERE!" and we can start a dialogue about what you got and what you'd like to see me do with it (or Brian if I "Jeff" before you guys...), and what-have-you. I'm willing to travel, or send one of my SELECT AMOC-ateers to gather your belongings and send our condolences to the bereaved.
And I promise to love it, and cherish it, and send it to the next Cerebus fan who needs...whatever.
(And, ya know, not just flip it for a profit. One of these days I need to inventory the AMOC Prize Drawer, and offer what I got to the next guy who needs any of it...)
Okay, let's end on a laugh:

Sean Robinson and Living the Line, publishers of the Eisner nominated The Strange Death of Alex Raymond, have a new book, and it's on the Kickstarter. 12 days left. And then they've ALSO got a new series with Carson Grubaugh The Abolition of Man #1. It's a comic "drawn" by an AI.
