Greetings friends,
This is a quick message to let you know that I'm taking the week off from my AMOC duties to prepare for next week, which will be the launch of "Paper to Pixel to Paper Again," a step-by-step how-to of line art reproduction and restoration in the computer era. Follow along with me as I completely restore a Cerebus book from scratch, starting from the very beginning of the work.
I need a bit of extra time to work on the first two installments, so I'm putting it off till next week! In the meanwhile, is there anything in particular you'd like to see or hear about? Let me know in the comments!

Neptune? Looks more like Uranus, Cerebus.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Okay, not really sure what this is about, as it's kind of old news, but what's with all of the moire?
Travis?
Really?
Dude!
Seriously.
Dude!
When Cerebus's moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's a moire.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Altso, "Each portfolio includes a 11,000-word essay by Dave Sim..."...
Really?
Dave?
Sorry, but, really?
Each one? Exactly 11,000 words?
Want me to count them, *while* I'm copy-editing them?
Um. Okay.
One, two; ...three-thousand, four-hundred, fifty-six; nine-thousand, nine-hundred, ninety-nine; ten-thousand, forty-six; ten thousand, nine-hundred and ninety-nine;
BTW, despite my getting paid for this... um ...yawn.
Okay, back to the count...
Um...
Eleven thousand and three.
Or five.
Or twelve.
Or nine-hundred-and-six.
I mean, c'mon!
Each one, exactly 11,000 words?
But, hey, if you can, then I bow down.
Travis, shtick your thumb in your big pizza eye and that's Gommorah...
Yeah, Sean, completely rearrange the entire ad copy just so you can get the EXACT word counts for each of the portfolios, just so Jeff will be happy. ;)
To actually be helpful, though, the Jaka's Story portfolio code is, per the Previews site for the catalog this month:
JAN171149
And is that the right code for #4?
And while we're on the topic, just curious, have the Melmoth portfolios started shipping yet? Just so I know to start looking for it at my PO Box. Not trying to rush all y'all or nothin'.
Hey Travis,
Thanks for the help!
Hey Jeff,
There are exactly 11,000 words in each essay, just as there are exactly one million dinky little lines in each portfolio. (Although I had to delete a few from the last one in order to make the count even...)
Sean R - We really should take a poll as to WHICH of the million dinky little lines you delete. And to be fair, shouldn't half of them be mine and half of them be Gerhard's?
Seriously - very nice to see that we have an ACTUAL ORDER CODE for CAN5 and it's right there in the ad. I had visions of the ad having a blank space when PREVIEWS came in.
Looking forward to "Paper to Pixel to Paper Again"! Not as much as the Legion of Wannabe Sean's are, but definitely looking forward to it.
