60ft Dave Sim, King of the Monsters

Hi, Everybody!

Pieces of Turtles 8 news:

Hi everyone. We had hoped to show you some pictures of Dave signing the POT8 comics, but printing has been scheduled for next week. In the meantime, Dave has finished his part of POT8.2 and now it's being assembled digitally.

There are still seven people that have paid for POT8 that have not sent us an address where you would like your comic(s) delivered. Waiting to hear from backers 43, 53, 61, 74, 94, 141 and 149. Dave will hold onto your items until he hears from you.
Yeah, Dave let me know:

Dave has six unreponsives, Birdsong has seven...this's gonna get good...

Sorry Bill, but I didn't think it was worth it to email you this a half hour ago. I DID send Dave all the responses to Dave's Pieces of Turtles 8 #2. We'll see if he has anything to say.

It is the original, complete 24-page book reduced to 2.5 x 3.5" and is available either raw or slabbed by CPS in collaboration with Studio Comix Press. We are only printing 175 individually numbered copies, so don't miss what is sure to be an instant collector's item!

If I understand the concept around POT8.2...

- There will be a kickstarter campaign that will have a defined set of versions available.

- There will be additional covers done by other creators, produced on their own schedule, and promoted on AMOC (and possibly elsewhere) but not referenced or included on the kickstarter.

For purposes of this post and to continue my thoughts...let's say "correct". (and please correct where I fail, more than likely, have failed understanding).

It would be extremely helpful (for the collectors and completists) ... even preferable, to provide in advance the complete listing of what will be available and the cost.

- POT8.2 Cover A by...$
- POT8.2 Cover B by...$
- POT8.2 Cover C by...$
- POT8.2 Cover D by...1:25 version $$
and so on...

If someone who was listed to do POT8.2 Cover YY fails to do so, then the master list gets updated to note that issue was never produced.

Image Comics Nocterra #1 (among many other comics - but I'll use Nocterra #1 as example) did this approach - 34 different 1st print and 1 2nd print version. Many incentives and premiums. But, there was the ability to know exactly what was to be produced, what got produced, and nature (limited, premium, etc) - so if one was inclined to try to get all 35 issues (plus the kickstarter) the buyer/consumer/collector knew what they were getting into.

I would have no issues with POT8.2 running a well-communicated campaign on and off kickstarter. Where my problem with POT8.2 would begin is if it went from 10 versions to many many more without everyone being informed up front.

Will POT8.2 have expanded CONTENT from POT8.1 rather than just variant covers?

POT8.2 is 100% All new content.

Matt, Dave has 6 and I have 7 because we have an address for one of those folks but he hasn’t answered his survey. If he moved since the last time he got something from Dave then his copy of POT8 may end up lost in the Australian mail system forever.

Oh -- wait a minute...it just dawned on me (senior moment), those are the US edition, right?

If Canadian, I'd like an opportunity to make a purchase, but if they're the US version I'll pass.
