Gerhard: Helping Heroes...

GERHARD:
(from Gerz Blog, 2 June 2016)
The Hero Initiative is the first-ever federally chartered not-for-profit corporation dedicated strictly to helping comic book creators in need. Hero creates a financial safety net for yesterdays’ creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work. It’s a chance for all of us to give back something to the people who have given us so much enjoyment.

Last month in Minneapolis I did a little Gerebus sketch and gave it to the folks at Hero Initiative. It's just a silly little sketch but it’s for a very worthwhile cause that needs your generous support. They have it up on eBay... Please bid lavishly.

I tried to bid on this, but Ebay said I owe them $4.24 for an Ebay fee. They didn't say for what, as it was "pending". So, I said, "whatever, I'll pay it so that I can bid." Even though I can't remember ever having used Ebay before. Personally, I think it's an attempt at fraud.

But, whatever, I'll pay four bucks and change so that I can bid. Yeah, not so much. They kept wanting me to reset my password.

Fuck Ebay.

When it takes a half-hour of your time and you still don't get past the gatekeepers...

FUCK EBAY.

(Sorry, Hero Initiative and Gerhard.)

And, I really wanted that piece, since I was at the Minneapolis WizardWorld con, visiting with Ger. Whoever gets it, if you wanna sell it, contact me at
