Panel from 53 shared: Sim delivers a stunning scene. The raindrops ricocheting off the windowsill, the slightly warped figures on the other side of the glass, and that uncontrollable mass of loose, squiggly lines pouring down the image. By placing the viewer outside, in the rain, looking in on the scene, Sim creates a discernible sense of distance, apprehension, and uncertainty that’s only augmented by the inquisitive faceless man.

RIP Robert Downey. His absurd and surreal 1969 arthouse film hit "Putney Swope" about a grouchy, raspy voiced and mostly stationary character surrounded by lively characters with off the cuff silly vignettes. Putney leaves it all behind with a bag of money.

Keith Page has drawn a 274-page graphic novel biography, “The Lad Himself”, scripted by Stephen Walsh. Jack says: I think it looks lovely. Shades of Dave Sim. I would certainly buy this.

Yeah, Gerhard's contributions to the book were indispensable, but MAN, that panel with the Countess is...well, really something.
