Jen's still "Out of the office", so Matt's STILL taking Manhattan...

Hi, Everybody!

Premiered today! Reports are it went well. (You can get reports straight from Jen's mouth if you follow her on the 'gram.)

Anyway, that means I'ma still doing her bit:

Just the GoFundMe Facts, Ma'am

  • $18,660.00 raised to date from 331 donations
  • 117 pages released so far as mocked up and/or drawn by Dave Sim through 21 Jan 2022.
  • $140.00 away from unlocking page 118

As Jen has copy/pasted from her last post:
3) The next raffle is for a full-page Silverspoon strip from The Buyer's Guide for Comic Fandom #321, January 11, 1980. These are really hard to come by so, I hope everyone considers joining the raffle. Speaking of which ...
4) Last time I posted, I discussed raffle tickets were going to go for $5 a pop and no one complained, so let it be written, so let it be done. I also mentioned that all donations since the last raffle will be included, meaning we have 97 raffle tickets sold so far. If we break 150 tickets, I'll toss another Silverspoon page into the bucket.
And Jen always says:

The Strange Death of Alex Raymond New Mockups Preview

If you haven't read The Strange Death of Alex Raymond before, we have an eight-page trailer that Dave did back in 2018: Part One | Part Two

Then the Dave Sim portion of the hardcover, presented four pages at a time:

And this.

If you want to see how Carson Grubaugh finished the hardcover, well, you're going to need to purchase a copy of your own. HOWEVER, if you want to see how Dave Sim continued the story in the blue pages -- bring me the blue pages -- mockups that appeared in blue ink in final section of the hardcover can be found here...

This,
This, and this.

Then in June 2021, Dave picked up the story again and it continues herehereherehere, and here.

If you enjoy the journey, you can join us for all the new pages on Dropbox by donating $5 or more.

So, a new page unlocked. Yay. Just three more weeks until Jen's done playing Highlander and gets back to work.

And that means I gotta fill space. Which is groovy, because THIS happened:
Click for bigger.

Ya see it, right?

Here, lemme zoom in:

God, I love this stupid joke...

I'll share how to get a shirt, when I find out how to order them.

And thanks to all my friends here who kicked in to get Pud's logo on there.
_______________
As I said on the Facebooks:
As I, glacially, continue to work on my custom Cerebus Lego minifigures, I've discovered that Lego has a service on their website called "Pick a Brick" where you can buy pieces in bulk. So instead of having to make my own swords and tails, I can just buy them. Which leads to the question which sword is most Cerebus? Or should I take a cue from the title pages of the Swords collections and offer a bunch of swords? If you click the link, it should show the swords available. there are three or four I'm think would work. Thoughts? Tail options in the comments.
Well, I ordered  a bunch of parts, and half of them came today. So my updated prototype:

The fella on the left is my sword model. The samurai and pirate swords aren't going to be included, but the rest are.

If you don't wanna wait on me anymore, you can build your own through Lego's site, what you need to order are:
Torso: MINI UPPER PART NO 1266 4292298/76382 This is grey, the hands are a little darker, I'm looking at options to see if there's a way to NOT have to paint them.
Legs, there are THREE options depending on if you're displaying your Aardvark with other Legos.
1: MINI LOWER PART 4227657/73200 these are standard height minifigure legs in grey
2: MINI LEG 6160106 These are NONmoving shorter legs. If you're displaying next to other minfigures and want your Aardvark to look shorter, Bob's your uncle. I chose these in white, and they'll need to be painted. OR, if you find a Prime Minister Chest design, you could do a High Society Aardvark.
3: MINI LOWER PART, 1 1/3 6509120 these are shorter legs where the legs move. (God I love Lego. Just when I give up, they introduce the minifigure piece I need to make an Aardvark.). They ARE available in darker grey, but I choose white, and will take them apart and paint them grey.
Tail: I posted the options above, but so far, my favorite is: MINI TAIL, NO. 16 6469726 it's only available in olive green, so you'll have to paint it.
Head: well Sparky, you're shit out of luck, as Lego doesn't sell Spider-Ham heads as part of their Pick A Brick program. Google Lego Spider-Ham, and Via Con Dios... (There WAS a Lego Spider-Man advent calendar that had a white Spider-Ham head (for a snowman) I think it came out last year. So try Spider-Ham snowman. Try here: https://www.brickowl.com/.../lego-spider-ham-snowman-head...)
Vest: I'm gonna try making them out of fabric. I'll upload my template once I prove it out.
Sword: See original post.
Good luck and share your pictures, and tag me.
Alright, it's late and I've "momented"...

Next Time: I gotta fill in for Ben too?
