One Small Step...

Hi, Everybody!

Hey, it's Monday!:

_________________________________________
I hope you got your orders in for:
Batvark PENIS! and the "Censored for Grandma" variant: Batvark XXXXX.
And if you want Signed copies of Vark Wars: Walt's Empire Strikes Back (Signed by Dave, Signed by Dave and me, Signed by me after I scribble out Dave's name, Signed by my kids, Signed by my mailman, Signed by neighbor, however you want...) click for more information.
And AND, in stores now: Attractive Cousins

Of course if you find Cerebus in Hell? to be juvenile and insipid, you can get The Strange Death of Alex Raymond/glamourpuss art as well as a Gerhard sketch from Heritage.

And speaking of The Strange Death of Alex Raymond, the Fund Raising Edition is a-coming:
Hi everyone , I wanted to give an update on your purchase of the SDAOR FE books.

1) Sean Robinson has done the pre-press on the files which have been sent to the printer, and have been approved. I’m waiting to hear back from the second printer who will be printing the 123 FE personalization / dedication pages for Dave to sign (BIG THANKS to Sean for his generosity in helping me navigate my way through all of this. I wouldn’t be able to do this without him, and his assistance is very much appreciated).

2) Carson and Sean have launched the KICKSTARTER for YOU DON’T KNOW JACK! Spread the word far and wide!

As well, there’s a very fascinating and engaging interview on AMOC with Carson by Matt about working on SDOAR, YDKJ!, photorealism art styles, and working with Dave. The post is for Saturday Jul 18, 2020.

3) There’s been some confusion about the SDOAR copies being offered through the YDKJ! Kickstarter, so I’d like to clarify:

The FE copies and the ones on kickstarter are part of the same print order, but the ones offered through kickstarter are not SDOAR FE copies (i.e. they will not have the personalized page at the front with your name, numbered out of 123 and signed by Dave). The KS copies contain the rest of the same contents.

Since the printer has a minimum print run for an order on sheetfed presses, the left-over copies after the FE copies were printed were going to be used as promo copies for the California Sales Tour, to be shown at Comic Shops. Since that won’t be happening, I thought it best to contribute some of the left-over promo copies to the YDKJ! Kickstarter.

I will be sending the FE copies once they are ready, and Carson will be sending out the KS ones.

Let me know if you have any questions, or if you would like a refund.
Thanks!
Eddie
And Speaking of You Don't Know Jack, the latest update over there:
Hello Jackians! (Hm. I don't know about that. Jackobians? Jackophiles? Okay, that one's DEFINITELY out!)

Thanks to your support, we are now closing in on $11,000, after only five days of campaign! Thank you so much!

Due to the interest we've seen and questions we've had, we wanted to throw it open to the floor for a discussion or comment. What would YOU like to see added to this campaign, either as a add-on tier, or as a stretch goal that all backers would receive at a certain amount of money raised? So far we've had suggestions of

--offering a pdf package of all of Dave Sim's photocopy layouts for the book, and/or the "Dave Sim Version" of the book!

-- offering personalized signing options

-- offering print copies of the Hermitage Awesomes catalog

Do you have any interest in any of these items? Wish we would add something else to the campaign? Now's the time to let us know!
And in the meanwhile, here are two new Carson Grubaugh Google Grab-bag sketches! First one is from Eddie, and the prompt was "Spice Girls".

And the second was prompted by Lou Valenti: "Frank Miller's Sin City"

There's videos over on the update if you wanna watch Carson be amazing...

Over on the Faceybooks: Gabe McCann asked:
Who can find the Cerebus image of this?
“ And that’s it for life in this solar system...”

Margaret posted them (page 1209 & 1210 of Church & State Volume II, aka Cerebus #111 page 9 & 10)

But since I need a Moment, here's the whole bit:

So, for those playing along at home, Cerebus' first Ascension ended six thousand and fifty-one years ago today...(that, that might be how many pages Cerebus is...)

Next Time: Six pages from High Society with my commentary. Or something else...

Nice to see all the pages
Someone posted that photo on another FB group
And the first thing I thought of was
Where have I seen that before but not as a Photo?

Something's a bit...off...here. I am the proud owner of the original art page, designated as "Cerebus No. 111, Page No. 12". You know, the "You die alone. Unmourned. And unloved." page.

That doesn't quite gel with the numbering of the pages from the same issue, as designated in this post...

If they blow up the sun does Cerebus's soul escape from "hell" ?

He doesn't need to talk to me Matt, he just needs to open his Church & State II phonebook to the pages I mentioned and compare them to the photo Gabe posted. Hopefully then he'll be able to put two and two together to get four instead of 3.
