Well howdy everyone!

I hope you all are having a wonderful Thursday!

The campaign continues to chug along. We now have just over two weeks before the end of the campaign, when we'll leap into action and begin fulfillment. If you haven't yet, and you have the time, we would really appreciate any reaching out you can do to other folk who might enjoy this project, be they fans of Dave Sim, fans of fantastic ink drawing, or readers who appreciate the genuine low-brow/high-brow collision that this comic embodies. Know someone who might be interested? Now is the time to let them know :)
If you missed the Waverly Press Kickstarter for the Remastered Cerebus #1, limited overflow of the rewards are available at cerebusoverload.com. Which ALSO has an update:
Hi Matt,

We posted a few new rarities on the site today.

The sample magnets we had made for the Kickstarter stretch goal that never happened, a numbered proof edition of the "Promotional" cover and a couple of error proofs that Dave signed and numbered.

We have activated a discount code of 20% off for AMOC readers good through Sunday. The code is JULY20

Cheers!
So, if you missed out on the LAST discount code, you have until the end of the weekend.

Cerebus masks and whatnots with all the money going to Dave ($62 (US) so far...).

Next Time: I have like a dozen faxes from Dave. I should probably start posting them...

I have that issue of "The Amazing Spider Man" safely bagged & boxed somewhere in my closet.

I can retire now, right?

I have at least two Canadian books in my collection:

Sensation Comics #89 (Golden Age Wonder Woman title) CGC 9.0; if I remember correctly, it states 'Canadian Edition' on the front cover

Patsy Walker Fashion Parade Giant #1 CGC 9.0; the inside covers are blank since they had adds for US companies. I've seen people advertising these as 'printers proofs' and that sort of thing. Many similar Marvel Canadian editions from this period exist.

Oddly enough, at least with the Golden Age titles, the Canadian variants sell for LESS than the US counterpart - even though significantly fewer were originally printed, and they were printed at the same time in the US and trucked into Canada.

Wacky collector mentalities.

But remind me: why is Dave spending money on this sort of thing?

Seems like it might be a good investment to purchase a copy, though the grade Dave owns might not appreciate in value as much as a higher graded slabs of the issue of ASM. Have a look! http://cpvpriceguide.com/2019/amazing-spider-man/252/

I have a gold-foil-numbered 1/1 Javier Baez rookie card.

Top *that*.

Jeff, the last time I collected baseball cards was before the ‘94 strike. Donruss and Fleer mostly. Is that card you mentioned like Ken Griffey Jr level money?

Brian West said...

Ken Griffey Jr. Rookie Card money, I meant to type.

Jeff said...

Brian? No. KG, Jr,s rookie card is now valued around $100, I think, maybe $200.. In Chicago, I could pay for my trip to and back *and* my visit with my sister *and* clear a thousand bucks.

As Dave said to me when I told him that I had gotten a gold-foiled, numbered 1 of 1 Javier Baez "hot rookie" baseball card, a few years ago, Dave said," You should hold on to that."

Well, duh!

Baez is *the* bomb.

Jeff said...

And clear a thousand bucks with the 1/1 Baez card, not the KG card.
