Cerebus Around the World and Web #41 by Oliver Simonsen

Hi, Everybody!

Get you surveys in for the Kickstarter for Dave and Carson Grubaugh's You Don't Know Jack, please.
WOO-HOO!

Well, it's a day after campaign close,* and I still can't quite believe our last-minute surge, and the success of the campaign. Thank you to you all! YOU made it happen.

This is a quick note to let you that the surveys have been sent and... well, only ONE of them has a massive error that I immediately regretted :) If you received one of the surveys that requires fields that should be optional-- sorry! Just put a single keystroke --whatever you like-- for the field that doesn't apply.

We'll update next week with how some of the details are proceeding with fulfillment. You Don't Know Jack! will be printed by Marquis in Canada, the same wonderful printer who I've worked with on the latest Remastered Cerebus volumes, SDOAR FE, and more.

More soon! And thank you all again for making this campaign a success.
*They sent this yesterday.

The Strange Death of Alex Raymond: Fundraising Edition copies are printed, signed, and are being prepared for shipping so, you can expect your copies soon-ish.

If you missed the Waverly Press Kickstarter for the Remastered Cerebus #1, limited overflow of the rewards are available at cerebusoverload.com. (A new something-something coming soon.)

Cerebus masks and whatnots with all the money going to Dave. Until the end of the month, there's also "Cerebus in Hell? 4 Sell". With all the profits going to Aardvark-Vanaheim. (How that's different is a mystery...)

Speaking of Cerebus in Hell? Word on the Street is that the 18th is the Final Order Cutoff for: Vault of Cerebus! And The "Censored for Grandma" variant: Batvark XXXXX (Okay, I heard that from Brian West on the Tweeters. But that's like a street, right?)
At the end of the month The Amicable Spider-Vark should be in stores.

Speaking of which, A Moment of Cerebus is facilitating Aardvark/Vanaheim's auctioning of a signed copy of the mis-stapled The Amicable Spider-Vark #1. As soon as I get pictures, I'll show you what it looks like, but it's signed by Dave five times with a silver sharpie that was dying, and some of them are smeared. It's a "Sandeep Atwall 1 of 5". Bidding starts is at $20 American dollars (plus shipping) to Margaret Liss.
Signed copies of Vark Wars: Walt's Empire Strikes Back (Signed by Dave, Signed by Dave and me, Signed by me after I scribble out Dave's name, Pretty much available Signed only...)

"A Moment of Cerebus founder Tim who still runs the twitter account" shares his Dave Sim commision and says: "I own this artwork! Couldn’t be more thrilled. I simply asked for ‘an Alan Moore drawing’, expecting a caricature similar to the one Dave included in Cerebus. I certainly got my money’s worth given the number of tiny lines he drew! I’ll let you ponder the Moore/Marley connection."

Hey, here's an idea since Dave isn't drawing much he could do like the Harvey Pekar model - have various artists doing short stories just a few pages in length...they could maybe try out their photorealism chops based on photos of Dave with his thoughts doing everyday stuff. Kinda a beauty in the mundane kinda thing. Here's Harvey drawn by Gerry Shamray.

I remember first coming across Harvey from a short review in Heavy Metal in the 80s and got my hands on single issues and collections from Double Day in 1986 that was sold in bookstores.
