Reread in progress. New review of Cerebus #13: "Reading the Cerebus phone book in one sitting never allowed me to realize just how quickly this comic book finds itself and begins gaining momentum. It’s truly inspired that Dave Sim, by issue thirteen, has created so many wonderful characters and written so many gags that stuck for decades inside my head."

New review of issue #14: Lord Julius' first appearance is a banger. Dave Sim never once falters with Lord Julius' repartee. Solid gags throughout. Sim really is a master of dialogue and, to think, it only gets better.

I used to have the entire Warren "the Spirit" run and just about all the others too. Great stuff.

Bear Toffoli shares a female Cerebus review: "...he has a very wide range of interesting female characters. They are drawn with care and respect, made to look very different, have different personalities and a couple are really awesome and badass. There is no gratuitous cheesecake, even Red Spohia who only wears a chainmail bikini is drawn more to emphasise innocent fun than sex. A couple of the volumes even pass the Bechdel Test..."

Don't forget "Cerebus in Hell? 4 Sell". With all the profits going to Aardvark-Vanaheim. Speaking of Cerebus in Hell? There's a new one: Spider-Whore! And this Wednesday, The Amicable Spider-Vark should be in stores, which is the lead in to Spider-Whore, which was SUPPOSED to be the immediate sequel, but Batvark: PENIS ended up taking Spider-Whore's slot when COVID-19 threw everything up into the air.

Speaking of Spider-Vark, A Moment of Cerebus is facilitating Aardvark/Vanaheim's auctioning of a signed copy of the mis-stapled The Amicable Spider-Vark #1. As soon as I get pictures, I'll show you what it looks like, but it's signed by Dave with a silver sharpie that was dying. It's a "Atwall 1 of 5". Bidding is at $100 American dollars (plus shipping) to Rich Laux.

And Signed copies of Vark Wars: Walt's Empire Strikes Back (Signed by Dave, Signed by Dave and me, Signed by me after I scribble out Dave's name, Pretty much available Signed only...)

Next Time: Pre-Cerebus Dave interview, WITH art!

R. Friend is not an idiot. But, his knowledge of "Cerebus" is at a kindergarten level. He even, at times, credits Dave with lines drawn by Ger. He gets a lot of timeline stuff wrong and, then, spends the last three or four minutes talking about himself while rushing through "Cerebus" screen captures.

His worst mistake was referring to "Going Home" as "the fourth or fifth, maybe, volume in the series."

Kudos for trying, Mr. Friend, but trying is *not* accomplishing.

Thanks for this Oliver. The latest episode (#451 "I Buy Comics" ) of popular podcast Tell 'Em Steve Dave has a Cerebus reference. The guests are asked to guess whether Cerebus, TMNT or Elfquest has the most valuable #1. Q (from TV' s Im practical Jokers) disses the elves in Elfques, someone else says that Cerebus had elves too - to which Q says "yeah but Cerebus f----ed 'em!)
