"I'ma let you finish Hobbs, but first I gotta say one thing:
The Kickstarter for Dave and Carson Grubaugh's You Don't Know Jack ends Friday at 8PM (CST) (9PM Dave time, (which might be Carson's time too, now that he's livin' it up in Hazzard County ('emember Carson, they's just a coupla Good ol' boys, never meant no harm...) and 6PM in Modesto California where Sean is hiding from George Lucas and the army of Mouse lawyers who wanna ask him some pointed questions about Vark Wars: Walt's Empire Strikes Back (which you can buy signed by Dave, signed by Dave and me, or well, those are the only options really).).).
The Newest Update:
Thank you all so much! We are entering the FINAL 60 HOURS of our campaign strong and well on our way to the $20,000 Stretch Goal that will net all backers of $15 or more a digital download of all of Dave's scripts, mockups, revision notes and his edit of YDKJ. We are also well on our way to my personal goal of 278 backers or more.
For those of you following the project but waiting to back it please let us know what you want to see in the final two days to win you over. Your feedback matters!
...............................................................................................
While unpacking all of my belongings I came across the following SDAOR, YDKJ and HA prototypes and decided to offer them as one-off Add Ons to the campaign.
Because Kickstarter makes the whole tiers-thing hard for customers to customize here is how we are going to handle these items:
You have until 11 pm Central Time on August the 13th to send your Silent Auction bids to clubgrubbug@gmail.com
Carson will contact each winning bidder before midnight to let you know you have won the auction. You will have until 12-noon on the 14th to raise your pledge by the amount of your bid or Carson will move on to the next highest bidder.
HERE ARE THE ITEMS! All items will be signed by Carson Grubaugh.
1. YDKJ ISSUES 1 & 2 PROTOTYPESThis is your ONE CHANCE to own a physical version of the Dave Sim Edit of YDKJ, which was originally intended to run as two, 24-page issues from IDW. (The book we are offering on the campaign combines these two issues into one 48-page book, so don't be concerned about us running a second Kickstarter or anything silly like that.)
Issue #2 features "Place-Holder Cover Variant" designed by Sean Robinson.
Bagged and boarded, in great condition, but I have read through them a few times.
2. Hermitage Awesomes Prototype V 6.0The last prototype version I was aware of and the only physical copy I have seen to date. Full color, 76 pages. Minor wear and tear on corners.
3. THE FIRST SDOAR V1 PROTOTYPE EVER MADE!!!!As soon as I finished illustrating my part of SDOAR V1 Dave asked me to print a prototype for him. This is that book, printed in very early 2017. I ordered one for myself and one for Dave. Dave never got his copy, so as far as I know this is the only copy in existence. Maybe one of two? I might have ordered Sean one as well? Sean?
The book is 6.25" x 9.25", so it is also the smallest copy of SDOAR in existence, much closer to a regular comic book size. It is also a hardcover!
The book does have a good amount of finger-print wear on the cover and the binding is cracked on the inside after the first few pages and a small ding resides on the bottom of the front cover. The interior is missing some pages, has rough lettering on my pages, and some of Dave's pages were printed from scans I was given that had vellum over them, so they printed lighter.
4. Strange Death of Alex Raymond Prototype #2The one physical copy of SDOAR V1 in Dave's preferred 8.25" x 12" format that I have seen to date.
Signed by Dave on 03/28/2019 with the note, "Prototype #2, First edition with the white cover highlights and back cover windshield fractures and blood seepage."
As you can see in the photo there is damage to the corners, which is how I got it from Dave.
I will sign and date underneath Dave's signature.
BIDDING IS NOW OPEN! Remember, you have until 11pm Central, tomorrow night, Thursday, August 13th to email me your bid at clubgrubbug@gmail.com

Benjamin Hobbs:
Last week, the cover of December's HERMANN #1 was revealed:
Thursday, we sent this solicit text to Diamond:
Finally!
Aardvark/Vanaheim parodies a comic LESS than a year after it comes out!
(Of course this means we have no idea what, specifically, we're making fun of.) SEE:
Hermann, the modern-day Ayn Rand enthusiast and bovine-flesh-covered Aardvark! WITNESS: the pulse-pounding first appearance of the
Bronze Age Hermann: Mr. H! PONDER: how a Bronze Age character can first
appear in 2020! MARVEL at Hermann working from home! As a stock boy! Be
AMAZED as he slowly reenters society... peeping through his neighbor's
windows! The EXCITEMENT builds as Kevin Eastman's lucky Frank Miller
wall RETURNS! WATCH as The WatchVark takes a solemn vow to watch the
activities of man and never interfere! Be PUZZLED by the immediate
breaking of that oath! Also: Covid-19 gets a pep talk!
This past week I drew a space background for the Watch Vark to inhabit:
Several strips were created by the CIH? team, but you'll have to buy the book to see those.
Next Week: More Hermann news!
