Benjamin Hobbs:
Dave and I have tried several different sizes for the width of SWORDS OF CIH?. The first proof was the width of a standard CIH? issue (About six and a half inches). In order to not lose any part of the page to the glue holding the book together, it was decided that the page needed to be expanded. The second set of proofs had wider widths: 7 inches and 7.25 inches. These sizes were arrived at by virtue of being smaller than a Golden Age bag, which is 7.5 inches wide. (The book needs to fit into a standard Comic Bag. Comfortably.) This was Dave's reply when he saw the proofs:
The next two proofs are off to Dave. Hopefully we'll have a final decision soon, as time is running out!
Next Week: The long promised SWORDS 2 and 3 revised covers.

Not sure what printing setup you're using, but why not just nudge the printed image an eighth or sixteenth to the left and keep the ideal size?
Damnable tick box...
