Jen's Alive! Two More Pages Unlocked, More Raffle Items Added!

Let me start by thanking Manly Matt Dow for stepping in during my lengthy absence and being most supportive of my artistic endeavors. Writing a show, going on stage and hoping people don't hate it can be a daunting experience and Matt (and even Natasha) were most kind in their support.

I won't bore you with my escapades because, well, this is a Cerebus and Strange Death of Alex Raymond blog and most of you, I assume would rather me simply get on it on with it, as exemplified by Michael Grabowski's comment some weeks back, "Good on Jen and may it lead to greater things for her, but I sure look forward to reading those ashcans someday."

Priorities, amiright?

So ... I will be focusing on the ashcans in the next week and see if we can't get that back on track.

That said, two new pages were unlocked for the Dropbox subscribers.

Now for the raffle. Last time I posted, I discussed raffle tickets were going to go for $5 a pop and we have 163 raffle tickets sold so far. I also mentioned that iff we break 150 tickets, I'll toss another Silverspoon page into the bucket, meaning ...

This is the full-page Silverspoon strip from The Buyer's Guide for Comic Fandom #321, January 11, 1980, quite the hard item to find. And...

And this is the full-page Silverspoon strip from The Buyer's Guide for Comic Fandom #325, February 8, 1980, also quite the hard item to find.

Now. If you've gotten this far, please do me a favor. Please add a comment if I should award all pages to the raffle winner, or should we have multiple winners and each page is drawn separately from the same pool?

Why do I ask? Because I have three more of these Silverspoon pages up for grabs!

Just the GoFundMe Facts, Ma'am

  • $18,810.00 raised to date from 337 donations
  • 118 pages released so far as mocked up and/or drawn by Dave Sim through 25 Jan 2022.
  • $190.00 away from unlocking page 119

The Strange Death of Alex Raymond New Mockups Preview

If you haven't read The Strange Death of Alex Raymond before, we have an eight-page trailer that Dave did back in 2018: Part One | Part Two

Then the Dave Sim portion of the hardcover, presented four pages at a time:

And this.

If you want to see how Carson Grubaugh finished the hardcover, well, you're going to need to purchase a copy of your own. HOWEVER, if you want to see how Dave Sim continued the story in the blue pages -- bring me the blue pages -- mockups that appeared in blue ink in final section of the hardcover can be found here...

This,
This, and this.

Then in June 2021, Dave picked up the story again and it continues herehereherehere, and here.

If you enjoy the journey, you can join us for all the new pages on Dropbox by donating $5 or more.
