Hey Matt,

Here's the link to the auction on COMIClink from Feb 23 2021 with the 9.4 CEREBUS #1 that went for $29,130.

It's a bit hard to find results on the COMIClink site, but here's the AUCTION Result page for the all the comics sold showing the prices they went for
Comic Link :: The Online Vintage Comic Book and Comic Art Auction and Exchange
And here's the page for the CEREBUS #1

If you click the first link, it's alphabetical after the big money books. Cerebus is down in the "C"s.

Well, in case you missed it, Oliver quit after 123 columns. Since the movie is out and available on "Plex", "Xumo", "Vimeo On Demand", "Tubi", and promoting it was one of his reasons for doing the column in the first place, I can't fault him for stopping. Now Oliver, don't let it go to your head, but, well, you deserve it:

Living the Line Fall 2022 lineup
Well hello there! Sean Robinson here, writing to let you know about a few of the recent goings-ons in Living the Line Land.

Today we’re thrilled to announce two additions to our fall of 2022 lineup. First up is Yuichi Yokoyama's stunning PLAZA, out this August from Living the Line. Translated by manga scholar @mangaberg , PLAZA is a riot of sights and sounds, pushing Yokoyama's "Neo-manga" to the outer extremes of comic possibilities.

Solicitation text: "Bigger, bolder, and louder than ever before, neo-manga artist Yokoyama Yuichi is back with PLAZA! Inspired by Carnaval in Brazil and totalitarian parades from around the world, PLAZA offers a maniacal extravaganza of marching, dancing, leaping, firing, cheering, smashing, and exploding over the course of 200-plus eye and eardrum-confounding pages. Originally published in Japan in 2019, this oversize English edition of PLAZA brings to full, hyper-animated life the spectacular graphic art of this genre-defying work of avant-garde comics."

The book will be available in English internationally through Diamond Comics, Diamond UK, and @diamondbookdist and we'll also be offering a month-long Kickstarter or other direct-sales option as well. So keep your ears to the ground!

Following PLAZA in September/October will be the English-language debut of an intense 200 page graphic novel by the stunning Dutch cartoonist/illustrator Erik Kriek. Kriek is best known in English for his inventive Gutsman and the intense In the Pines, which was translated by Fantagraphics in 2017. The Exile take’s Kriek’s interests and graphic abilities even further, in an intense human drama that Kriek has affectionately referred to as his “Viking Western”.

Banished for murder, Hallstein Thordsson has returned to Iceland. The night is dark and cold and the shoulders turned towards the exile, even colder. The Exile, a 200 page graphic novel from Erik Kriek (In the Pines, Gutsman) tells a tale of pain & peace. Coming this Fall.

Lastly, if you haven’t had a chance to check out our YouTube page yet, now is definitely the time. We continue to have weekly thought-provoking discussions on comics and the arts, including a few of these recent highlights—

an interview with legendary animator and TMNT Adventures artist Ken Mitchroney

the continuing series Formalism Friday with Brandon Graham, where we share and dissect unique formal comics trickery

looking at books that struggle against their genre, like the shockingly-gripping Hellshock by Jae Lee

a discussion with two neuro-ophthamologists where we try to get to the bottom of the neurological roots of what make line drawings “work” as reading (and a lot of other art and comics-related topics!)

We hope you enjoy this little peek into what we’ve been up to on our YouTube page, if you enjoy, we hope you’ll follow along with us.

Well, that’s all from me for now! I hope you enjoy these periodic messages, and if you see something you like, whether it’s a book we’ve announced or a video you enjoy or really anything else, we hope you’ll tell a friend.

All the best,
Sean Michael Robinson
Living the Line

Matt, just out of curiosity: by your estimate how many months did it take for Dave to complete his exegesis of John Chapter 3 via the Monday Report?

Brian,

I don't know.

We're on part 87, I think he started chapter 3 in the forties?

Not sure.

I guess if there's demand, I can make a free PDF of all of these for people to catch up...
